The Rohingya people have been persecuted and discriminated against for decades. As a Muslim minority of Myanmar, they have been a target of violence in Rakhine State which has seen their homes burned and their families separated and killed. To escape this, they began to flee Myanmar and became refugees in Bangladesh.
